Philadelphia, PA- Kensington Bank $20 18__ Proof PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.
The Kensington Bank was organized in 1826 and remained in business until being succeeded by the Kensington National Bank of Philadelphia in 1864, charter 544. This delightful $20 features a portrait of William Penn at right, the elm tree under which Penn's treaty with the Lenape Turtle clan of the Delaware Indians was signed in 1683 at center, and two Native Americans gazing into the distance at a bustling city at left. A red tint envelopes the face. PMG mentions a tear repair which is located at upper right. There are four small POCs along the signature lines.
